A New Coffee Variety

We are excited to announce that we’ll be bringing in another African coffee variety in the next coming weeks; this time a single origin from Rwanda.  The coffee beans come from Gitesi, a private washing station located in the Kibuye valley near Lake Kivu on the Western boarder.  Known as the ‘land of a thousand hills’ Rwanda is rapidly becoming one of the top African coffee producing countries.

The particular beans we are receiving are of a Bourbon varietal, wet processed, and grown at high elevations around 1,800 meters.  This is a very complex cup producing tasting notes of lemon-mandarin, dulce de leche, orange tea and cocoa.

Look for this distinctive variety soon as well be roasting here probably in the next week.
